Robbie
William's
Robbie began as a member of the hit group Take That, personally I wasn't a great fan of Take That and leaving was the best move he could ever had made. Robbie launched his solo career in 1997 with the cover of George Michael's " Freedom " which went in at number 2. He then went on to have a hit with his first solo album a Life Thru A Lens, which really took off after the release of the incredible successful single Angels which was a number one Hit and remained in the charts for months followed by Let me Entertain You. The album received high praise from critics and was a huge success. It's a great album just like the one that followed in 1998 "I've Been expecting You which really took off after the smash hit "Millennium" which was his first single released in the U.S, which also had on it another number one with "Strong". He released another single "She's the One" off his U.S Album "The Ego has Landed" which went straight in at number one. Robbie like the Gallagher brothers are not shy to to the spotlight and is not ashamed to admit and talk about his alcohol and drugs problem, his sexual goings on and anything else that comes along with the rock star life style. He is full of charm and who could resist that cheekiness that always comes across in an interview or performance. However he's not the best role model for young teenagers. Yeah but least he's honest.
Quote: "I think my first
trip to America revolved around Tequila and strippers, i'm not saying i'm
proud of that, but that's what happened. Thats your perfect rock n roll
evening and i've done it. Robbies most recent success is winning the highest
number of brit awards, he has now picked up nine which is more that any
other act.
